ORIGIN

TAP IN Studio was founded by Marleen Wegdam — artist, producer and creator of the TAP IN method.

Her work began in music.

Not with a theory.

With an observation.

The first response was already there.

The problem wasn’t finding it.

The problem was what happened next.

Thinking.

Judging.

Correcting.

She began building from the first response instead.

The work changed.

That became the beginning of TAP IN.

Music. Signal. Interruption.

“This is not a genre”

DAMM is where the method began.

Music built from the first response, before explanation, convention or expectation takes over.

Not random.

Not without structure.

A different starting point.

T H E S O U N D

DAMM moves between electronic force, organic texture and human tension.

Rhythm interrupts.‍ ‍

Structures stretch.‍ ‍

Repetition changes shape.

The music doesn’t avoid structure.

It finds its own.

THE APPROACH

DAMM starts before the answer is known.

A sound.

A movement.

A reaction.

Then: stay with it.

Follow what it does.

Build before judging.

Let the structure emerge from what is already there.

The first response becomes the work.

L I V E / S T A G E

DAMM performs inside the architecture of the music.

Sound, electronics, rhythm, interruption and silence move through the room. ‍

The live show doesn’t reproduce the record. ‍

It continues it.

F R O M D A M M T O T H E M E T H O D

DAMM‍ began with a simple shift: ‍

follow the first response before thinking takes over.

What changed the music revealed something bigger. ‍

The same thing happens when we create, decide, lead and work with others. ‍

What began as a way of making became a method.
